The scale tells you one number. It doesn't tell you whether you lost fat or muscle, why the weight came on, or what your hormones are doing about it. A men's health clinic can.
Weight rarely moves alone. Low testosterone makes fat loss harder and muscle loss faster; extra weight, in turn, suppresses testosterone. Generic weight programs ignore that loop — we start by measuring it, with bloodwork and a real assessment. If hormones are part of your picture, TRT and weight loss get planned together, by the same clinician, instead of by two providers who've never spoken.
And because we track body composition — not just weight — your follow-ups answer the question that matters: are you losing fat and keeping muscle? That's the difference between looking lighter and looking strong.
Medical weight loss is physician-guided treatment for weight built on assessment and bloodwork — which can include prescription medication when appropriate, alongside monitoring of what is actually changing in your body. It differs from diet programs in that a clinician screens for underlying factors like hormone levels and adjusts your plan based on labs and results.
Because weight, testosterone, energy and recovery are connected systems. Low testosterone can make fat loss harder and muscle loss faster, and carrying extra weight can in turn suppress testosterone. A program that checks both sides of that loop can address causes rather than just calories.
Body composition scans measure fat versus lean mass rather than just total weight. For men, that distinction is the whole game: losing 20 pounds of mixed muscle and fat is a very different outcome from losing 20 pounds of fat while holding muscle. Scans let your clinician see which one is happening and adjust your plan accordingly.
Clinic weight loss programs are generally private-pay and not covered by OHIP. Some medication costs may be partly covered by private insurance plans depending on your coverage; check with your provider. We will help you work with your provider to get the maximum coverage you are eligible for.
Bloodwork, body composition, and a plan that treats causes — booked in days, seen right on time.
